The Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) of Uzbekistan has successfully extradited a suspect who was wanted on international charges, the Interior Ministry said.
According to official reports, the individual had been flagged via Interpol channels by the NCB for committing large-scale fraud. Following a coordinated operation with Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Tbilisi, the suspect was located and apprehended within the territory of Georgia.
After the Ministry of Justice of Georgia approved the extradition request submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan, the suspect was escorted back to Tashkent to face further legal proceedings and prosecution.
This follows a similar recent case where another individual accused of fraud was extradited to Uzbekistan from the United Arab Emirates via Interpol.
