Two people were killed and four others hospitalized following a late-night multi-vehicle collision in Angren, Tashkent province.
According to the Provincial police department, the accident occurred at approximately 11:10 PM on April 26. A Howo truck, driven by a 31-year-old, collided with four vehicles traveling in the same direction at the 93rd kilometer of the A-373 highway.
The impact claimed the lives of a 51-year-old driver and a 40-year-old passenger in a Chevrolet Cobalt; both died at the scene. Four other individuals from the remaining vehicles sustained various injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
The Investigation Department has launched a criminal case under Article 266, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules resulting in fatalities).
The truck driver was unharmed and has been taken into custody.
