On April 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Russian First Deputy PM Denis Manturov, who is leading a Russian delegation at the INNOPROM. Central Asia International Industrial Exhibition in Tashkent.
The delegation includes a high-level assembly including the presidents of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and the governors of Leningrad, Kirov, Irkutsk, and Omsk regions, as well as executives from several of Russia's leading corporations. At the start of the talks, Manturov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Vladimir Putin to the Uzbek leader.
President Mirziyoyev commended the successful organization of the sixth annual INNOPROM exhibition, which has drawn over 10,000 business delegates from 35 countries. The discussion centered on the practical implementation of high-level agreements, with a primary focus on trade and economic cooperation.
Both parties noted with satisfaction the steady growth in bilateral trade and the successful execution of projects across diverse sectors, including industry, peaceful nuclear energy, power generation, transport, metallurgy, and chemicals. To maintain this momentum, they emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to accelerate joint ventures within industrial zones and to foster ongoing engagement between regional governments and businesses.
New strategic initiatives were also endorsed in promising fields such as agricultural machinery, energy efficiency, water management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, special attention was given to training specialized engineering personnel through joint technical universities.
During the session, Russian regional leaders and corporate leaders presented the president with concrete proposals for new projects across various sectors of the economy.
