At a conference in Kabul aimed at fostering business connectivity between the private sectors of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, entrepreneurs from both nations signed 38 trade agreements totaling $520 million.
This milestone follows a significant surge in engagement between the economic institutions of both countries over the last six months. Frequent visits by Uzbek delegations to Afghanistan have paved the way for direct dialogue among business leaders and the steady expansion of commercial ties.
Reflecting this momentum, over 100 agreements worth more than $1.4 billion have been finalized in just the last two months. These documents span a diverse array of sectors, including agriculture, food processing, mining, transport, logistics, construction, petroleum products, and energy. During the conference, Afghan Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi remarked that the country views itself as a highly promising market for Uzbek goods.
