From Tuesday, April 14, through Friday, April 17, an influx of cool, moist air will sweep across Uzbekistan, according to the latest update from Uzhydromet.
The weather shift begins Tuesday in the northwest before spreading to most provinces between April 15 and 17. Expect widespread rainfall—heavy in some areas—with the potential for thunderstorms. In the high-altitude mountains, this rain is likely to transition into snow.
Wind speeds will intensify to 15–20 m/s, with localized gusts reaching a powerful 25–28 m/s. Additionally, residents in certain areas should prepare for blowing dust on April 14 and 15. Daytime temperatures are set to drop steadily throughout the period, bottoming out between 13°C and 16°C.
Flash Floods and Mudflows
Due to the heavy precipitation, the foothills and mountainous areas are at risk for mudflows and flash flooding from April 14 to 17. In lower-lying areas, poor drainage may lead to surface water accumulation and localized flooding.
Authorities strongly advise residents and travelers in the highland areas of the below provinces to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions.
