Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov yesterday hosted the visiting First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
The counterparts discussed issues of further development of cooperation in industrial cooperation, agro-industrial sector, military-technical, aerospace, transit and transport fields, and the possibility of providing services by the Kazakhstan's satellites group on remote sensing of land and satellite communications.
Askar Mamin noted that the two-way trade turnover in January-September 2017 grew by 30% hitting US$1.5 billion. In his opinion, by the year-end the turnover will reach US$ 2 billion. Mamin stressed that this figure given the huge potential by 2020, should reach US$5 billion.
Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov supported the idea of holding a Interprovincial Cooperation Forum, which should become a foundation for further development of bilateral trade and economic ties.
It was noted that the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan will be held in 2018, which will demonstrate the brotherly nature of the historical heritage and the cultural unity of the two countries.
The delegation of Kazakhstan was also hosted by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Achil Ramatov.
Deputy PMs of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed issues of developing trade and economic ties and increasing the volume of two-way trade, as well as expanding the range of traded goods.
The counterparts noted that countries had established trading houses for food, chemical and petrochemical products. Work is underway to establish trading houses in the machine building and pharmaceutical industries.
