Uzbekistan welcomes the announcement of a comprehensive ceasefire and the establishment of a truce in the Middle East, brokered by the Pakistani leadership, the Foreign Ministry stated.

"We view this as a pivotal step toward de-escalating tensions, creating the necessary conditions for political and diplomatic dialogue, and seeking mutually acceptable solutions," the statement read.

"We urge all parties to exercise restraint, refrain from any actions that could lead to a renewed escalation, and maintain constructive engagement to achieve lasting peace and stability," the Ministry added.

The Minsitry also reiterated Uzbekistan’s "unwavering commitment to resolving conflicts exclusively through peaceful means," in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.

On the night of April 8, the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week truce through the mediation of Pakistan. During this period, Iran will ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and Israel will also join the ceasefire. The first round of peace talks between Washington and Tehran is expected to take place this week in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
