By the April 7 presidential decree, Uzbekistan has authorized temporary state subsidies for meat importers to stabilize domestic market prices. According to the Ministry of Justice, the initiative is designed to ensure a consistent and affordable supply of meat products for households.
The support measures include:
- Air Freight Compensation: Through August 1, importers of beef and mutton will receive a 50% reimbursement on air transportation costs, capped at $0.80 per kilogram.
- Livestock Incentives: Through December 31, the state will cover 10% of the cost of breeding cattle imported by air. This subsidy is capped at 4 million UZS (approximately $315) per head.
The Agricultural Services Agency will oversee the disbursement of these funds.
