A major fire tore through a Tashkent marketplace on April 5, according to a statement from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

Emergency services received a distress call at 3:56 PM reporting a blaze at a commercial facility within the "Beshkurgon" market, located along the Tashkent Ring Road in the Chilanzar district. Firefighting crews managed to contain the spread by 4:53 PM, but the fire was not fully extinguished until 6:18 PM. Preliminary reports indicate no fatalities or injuries.

Reportedly, the Tashkent City Department for Emergency Situations took full command of the scene, which was also attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General A. Ikramov. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the ignition and the total extent of the property damage.
