Uzhydromet has issued a flash flood and mudflow warning for the foothills and mountainous regions across nine provinces of Uzbekistan, effective from April 7–9, following forecasts of heavy rainfall.

The high-risk districts:

  • Kashkadarya: Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts;
  • Surkhandarya: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altinsay, Denau, Boysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabat districts;
  • Samarkand: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Koshrabad, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtikhon districts;
  • Navoi: Khatirchi, Navbakhor, Nurata, Kanimekh, and Karmana districts;
  • Jizzakh: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharaf Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts;
  • Tashkent: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, and Yukorichirchik districts, including the cities of Angren and Olmaliq;
  • Namangan: Pap, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts;
  • Fergana: Sokh, Fergana, and Besharik districts, including Shakhimardan;
  • Andijan: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaobod, and Markhamat districts, including the city of Khanabad.

Residents of these highland areas, as well as tourists and motorists, are urged to exercise extreme caution. Uzhydromet further warned that localized heavy rains may lead to water accumulation and significant flooding in low-lying territories.
