An administrative case had been initiated against human rights activist Abdurahmon Tashanov on charges of spreading false information.

Tashanov informed Kun.uz that the case was considered today, April 1, at the Mirabad District Criminal Court. The proceedings were terminated under Article 271, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offences due to the absence of an administrative offense.

The activist had previously posted on Facebook regarding the alleged use of torture against a citizen named Nozim Abdullaev.

“Following this, two officials from the State Security Service filed a complaint with the Military Prosecutor's Office, claiming they were 'victims'—specifically that their honor and dignity had been insulted. The Military Prosecutor's Office initiated an administrative case, but it was rejected by the court,” said Abdurahmon Tashanov.
