Car-Free Day and Car-Free Week campaigns will be held monthly on the 10th and 25th starting May 1 under the presidential decree’s Clean Air project. Government officials will be strictly prohibited from using official vehicles during these periods.

By the end of the year, Tashkent will be divided into red, yellow, and green zones under the Enivironmental Transport system. During this same period, the Interior Ministry must issue eco-stickers to all vehicles.

Tashkent will also implement steps to reduce the environmental impact of transport and improve urban mobility, in particular developing bicycle infrastructure, bus lanes and parking. Additionally, heavy-duty and freight transport will be restricted in densely populated areas during specific hours.

A comprehensive roadmap through 2035 is being drafted to modernize public transport, prioritizing eco-friendly options, which includes adding 200 electric buses to the fleet. Furthermore, 1000 new buses will be purchased to serve 275,000 passengers from the Tashkent province and expand routes to new residential complexes.
