The president Mirziyoyev signed a decree stipulating that all motor vehicles in Tashkent must be issued ecological stickers confirming their environmental category before 2027as part of the Clean Air nationwide project.
The Ecology Committee is in charge of making sure that Tashkent is divided into Red, Yellow, and Green zones before 2027.
The Ecological Transport scheme officially took effect in Uzbekistan on January 1, 2026. Under this system, urban areas and vehicles are categorized into Red, Yellow, and Green zones; vehicles without the appropriate color-coded eco-sticker will be restricted from entering corresponding city zones.
Fines for violating these regulations are expected to be implemented starting in 2027.
