President Mirziyoyev signed the Steps to implement the national Clean Air project aimed at improving air quality Decree.
The following have been outlined as the primary objectives of the 2026–2030 Clean Air national project:
- Reducing the amount of pollutants discharged into the atmosphere by 10.5%.
- Ensuring the installation of automatic monitoring stations and dust-and-gas cleaning equipment at Category I and II enterprises (based on environmental impact).
- Reducing the number of days where PM2.5 levels are above national standards.
The mandate of the Special Commission for implementing urgent steps to improve the environmental situation in Tashkent will be extended until March 1, 2027.
The commission’s name will be changed to the Republican Special Commission for implementing urgent steps to improve the ecological situation.
Starting April 1, 2026, an indefinite standstill will be implement for new industrial zones in Tashkent city.
