A teacher in Namangan is suspected of sexual violence against a female student, the Children’s Ombudsman said on Saturday.
The investigation department of the Yangikurgan District police department has opened a criminal case under Article 119, Part 4 of the Criminal Code. The suspect, T.Sh., has been detained in accordance with procedural regulations and placed in custody as a precautionary measure.
Pre-trial investigations are currently underway. The Children's Ombudsman announced that they had taken the case under official supervision.
Article 119, Part 4 of the Criminal Code covers the crime of satisfying sexual desire in an unnatural form against a person under the age of fourteen through the use of force, threats, or by exploiting the victim's helpless state. This offense carries a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years.
