Starting April 1, penalty points will be issued for traffic violations captured by automated photo and video surveillance systems.
The penalty point system was originally launched on June 1 of last year. Up until now, points were only assigned based on administrative reports filed manually by traffic police officers.
Points are now automatically calculated via the E-jarimaball module. A driver’s calculation period begins on the date of their first violation and runs for one full year. If the total number of points does not reach 12 within that year, the points are not carried over to the next period and are instead cancelled.
