The president Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding Jasorat (Courage) medal to Khairullo Ibodullaev, a janitor in St. Petersburg, Russia. On February 22, Khairullo, 36, caught a 7-year-old boy who had fallen from a seventh-floor window.

The decree states that the "brave and fearless" Khairullo Ibodullaev was awarded the medal for saving the life of a child who had fallen from a high floor of a multi-story building, demonstrating the high qualities of courage, heroism, and selflessness inherent in our people, risking his life and health in an emergency and difficult situation that occurred.

The man injured his arm and rib while rescuing the boy. 78.ru said that residents of the residential building on Petrozavod Street launched a fundraiser for him. They say the janitor does his job very well, greets everyone, and remains humble.

Khairullo Ibodullaev landed in St. Petersburg four months ago to earn money. He has four children and sick parents at home.
