A 35-year-old man who was being held in a pre-trial detention center in Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand province died. According to official information, he died while being taken to the hospital due to deteriorating health.
According to the press service of the Interior Ministry, the incident occurred on Saturday at around 17:35 in pre-trial detention center No. 7 in the Kattakurgan district. Reportedly, the man H.K., 34, was arrested by the prosecutor's office on charges of Article 168, Part 3, Clause "c" and Articles 28 and 211, Part 1 of the Criminal Code.
Due to a sharp deterioration in his condition, he died at around 18:00 while being taken to a medical institution. According to the initial forensic medical report, the cause of death was "severe complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus" and no traces of injuries were found on his body.
The ministry added that on February 18, the accused was taken to the hospital due to illness, his relatives were informed, and a meeting was organized there. According to the doctors' report, his condition was considered satisfactory, and he was returned to prison on February 20.
The case is currently being investigated by the prosecutor's office.
