Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev chaired a long service honoring ceremony for elderly prosecutor officers, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Reportedly, Nigmatilla Yuldashev, recognizing their contribution for the rule of law and protecting human rights and freedoms, noted that their professional skills and rich life experience were an example for younger officers.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a teleconference government meeting on January 27, severely criticized law enforcement officials, reprimanded the head of the Tashkent City Police Department Ravshan Sultanhojaev and the acting prosecutor of Tashkent City Anvar Urmanov, and assigned them a six-month probationary period.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also drew attention to employees who continue to work in senior positions after retirement age, stressing that the age limit for serving in the law enforcement system is 55 years for colonels and 60 years for generals, but now more than 300 employees over this age were still working in senior positions.
