On the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the Charter of the Board of Peace in Davos, Switzerland yesterday. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
In a friendly spirit the leaders discussed the ways to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, focusing on prospects for cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also met with Adebayo Ogunlesi, the BOD Member and Senior Managing Director of Blackrock.
The parties discussed priority areas of investment cooperation and progress of previously reached agreements.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev reportedly supported company's initiatives to purchase equity stakes in a number of enterprises in Uzbekistan, develop joint investment mechanisms, and attract international expertise to improve the country's investment climate.
Furthermore, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.
The parties discussed practical aspects of further deepening the strategic partnership and to expand bilateral cooperation. They have identified priority areas of cooperation for this year, including the development of the private sector and infrastructure, the digital transformation of railway transport, and other issues. They also focused on continuing programs to train women and youth in modern professions and business.
