As part of its tourism development strategy, Uzbekistan is aiming to bring the tourists number to 20 million by 2030, and the ratio of the sector to the GDP from the current 3.5% to 7%, through attracting investments, improving services quality, and creating new jobs. It is also planned to increase annual exports of tourism services to $ 6 billion.
The modernization of infrastructure is one of the main factors for tourism development. In particular, it is planned to reduce travel time by at least 3 times by improving transport connections between tourist cities and increasing domestic flights.
While, Uzbekistan authorities are also working to diversify tourist destinations, focusing on full tapping its tourism potential.
