An expanded meeting of the Commission on compliance with constitutional rights and freedoms under the Ombudsperson took place on Saturday.

The meeting considered an activities report of the Ombudsperson for 2025.

Reportedly, a total of 26,372 complaints were received in 2025 by the Ombudsperson from nationals, aliens and foreign ombudsmen, stateless persons, public organizations and other legal entities. This figure increased by 12.6% compared to 2024.

With the assistance of the Ombudsperson, more than 10.6 billion soums were recovered in the interests of individuals. Of this, 2.3 billion soums were payments related to wages and labor relations, and more than 3.9 billion soums were paid to individuals as indemnity for damaged housing.

The Ombudsperson and members of his Public Groups conducted 954 monitoring visits to prevent torture. During the monitoring visits, 5,487 individual interviews were conducted with convicts and prisoners, and group meetings were held with more than 11,000 individuals.
