November 8-13, Fergana hosted meetings of working groups of governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on delimitation and demarcation of the state boundary.
According to the statement of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service, a joint field survey and instrumental topographic mapping were conducted on previously unfinalized 14 sections of the state boundary within Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions of Uzbekistan adjacent to Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions of Kyrgyzstan. The working groups have agreed on 7 sections.
Thus, as of November 13 the total number of sections on which the parties have similar positions has now reached 56.
The minutes was signed and the schedule of field topographic and land survey works was approved for the remaining unfinalized sections following the meeting.
"The meeting was held in a spirit of mutual understanding and a traditionally friendly atmosphere", - a statement of the press-service added.
