The Ministry of Justice has registered the Regulation On Procedure for Certification of Marriage Contracts by Notaries. According to the Regulation, marriage contracts shall be certified by notaries at the premises of a notary office via teleconference, or at the request of applicant at the applicant’s place.

The applicant shall apply to a notary office to certify contract or registers through the Unified portal of interactive governmental services (UPIGS, my.gov.uz) or E-Notarius.uz portal.

The notary clarifies the identity of the applicant.

When certifying the contract, the notary shall make sure of the following:

 - whether the parties have reached the age of marriage;

 - whether the parties are in a marriage or not;

 - whether either party is married to another person;

 - whether the contract has not been entered into before.

After the payments are made and the draft contract is fully prepared, the parties shall be invited to the notary at the same time to sign the contract.

All copies of the contract shall be personally signed by the parties in the presence of a notary, with the full name, surname and patronymic of the parties.
