The Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 12 received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, a UzA statement said.
During the meeting the parties noted the consistent development and strengthening of the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and agreed to continue the regular dialogue at the highest level.
Wang Yi reiterated the Chinese leadership’s commitment to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in all promising areas that meet the long-term interests of the two countries.
Special attention was paid to the state and prospects of trade-economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation.
China is one of the leading trade and investment partners of Uzbekistan. The volume of trade turnover between the countries surpassed US $ 4 billion. Over $ 6.5 billion of Chinese investment and loans have so far been drawn for projects in Uzbekistan.
Before arriving in Tashkent the Chinese foreign minister visited Samarkand, where he paid tribute to the memory of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
