President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today hosted the Deputy Assistant to the President and senior director for South and Central Asia of the US National Security Council Lisa Curtis.
The sides reportedly discussed the new US strategy in Central Asia and bilateral cooperation.
Lisa Curtis highly commended the Uzbekistan's economic reform efforts, fair labor practices and the improvement of regional ties.
The sides also discussed the New York terrorist attack that took place on October 31 and agreed on closer cooperation in combating terrorist threats.
Lisa Curtis said that the United States are committed to working with the Government of Uzbekistan and partners throughout the region to ensure peace and stability.
