37 kg 421 grams of drugs hidden among marble slabs intended for construction were seized in the Samarkand province, the press service of the State Security Service said.

Analysis revealed that the drug was extract-opium—a processed product obtained from raw opium through aqueous extraction.

The joint operation was conducted by the State Security Service, the Provincial police department, and the Provincial customs department.

The investigation found that the drugs had been brought into the country by a 33-year-old foreign national for sale by two local residents, aged 44 and 30.

All three suspects have been arrested, with criminal case now opened.
