Shavkat Mirziyoyev, welcoming the guest, noted with satisfaction that the highest level meetings held earlier this year and the agreements reached, including the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation between the regions of the two countries, has served to enhance the practical cooperation of Uzbekistan’s provinces with entities of the Russian Federation, first of all, in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian areas.
The sides examined the ways to further expand and strengthen traditionally close and mutually beneficial ties of Uzbekistan with St. Petersburg.
Currently, the two-way trade turnover has reached $200 million. About 1 million of Uzbek citizens are working in St. Petersburg, with over 3 thousand people enrolled in St. Petersburg’s universities.
