On November 28, after Friday prayers, all mosques in Uzbekistan will offer a congregational prayer of al-istisqa (prayer for rain), the Muslim Board said.

The announcement noted that this was due to the rainless autumn, with no precipitation expected in the coming days, while rain is deemed a symbol of prosperity and abundance.

Furthermore, livestock will be sacrificed in the central mosques of provinces, districts, and cities, and at pilgrimage sites, with meat to be distributed to needy families, orphans, and lonely individuals.

At higher and secondary specialized Islamic educational institutions, teachers and students will read the hadith collection Sahih al-Bukhari before Friday prayers.

"History books say that when the Sahih of Imam Bukhari was read during a drought, rain fell by the will of Allah," the announcement stated.

The Authority also recommended that pilgrims performing Umrah perform the Istiqa prayer.
