Uzbekistan and Moldova will switch to a permitless bilateral system for road freight transportation, the Ministry of Transport said today.

Officials of the two countries signed an MoM amending the existing international road freight treaties. Under the new deal, the permitless system shall take effect from 2026.

"This agreement will facilitate freight transportation across Europe by road and will contribute to the development of foreign economic relations and ensure the stability of the export chain," the ministry said.

Earlier, Ministry of Transport also signed a road cargo transportation agreement with Italy.

The talks centered on exchanging forms of permits, allocating additional slots for this, and upping quotas for 2026.
