"On behalf of the Embassy of Romania in Tashkent and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on the National Holiday — the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan!
This is a special date that symbolizes the aspiration of the Uzbek people for freedom, sovereignty and sustainable development. Over the years, Uzbekistan has achieved impressive successes in the socio-economic and cultural areas, demonstrated its desire to strengthen international cooperation and took its rightful place on the world stage.
Romania highly values the relations of friendship and mutual respect that have developed between our countries. On October 6, 2025, Romania and Uzbekistan will celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. We are convinced that thanks to open dialogue, mutually beneficial projects and a sincere desire to develop partnership, our relations will continue to successfully deepen.
I would especially like to note that Romania is closely following the dynamics of Uzbekistan's development, the large-scale reforms and modernization carried out in the country. We sincerely wish success in continuing this important path and prosperity to all citizens of Uzbekistan.
I am confident that our peoples have many opportunities ahead for joint projects in the fields of economy, education, culture, tourism and interpersonal relations. I am very pleased that the data published by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan show a significant increase in trade volume between Romania and Uzbekistan in recent years.
As a Member State of the European Union, Romania will continue to strongly advocate for the development of relations between the European Union and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
I recall with great pleasure that in 2021 I had the honor to send a video message on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the summit of Big Chimgan (3,309 m), in 2022 from the summit of Khazreti Sultan (4,083 m), and in 2023 from the Pulatkhan plateau (2,823 m). These video messages from different parts of Uzbekistan were a symbol of respect, friendship and admiration for the beauty and spirit of this amazing country. I am glad that these symbolic moments found a response in the hearts of many Uzbeks.
I congratulate all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Independence Day! I wish you peace, prosperity, good health and success in realizing all your noble aspirations!
With deep respect and best wishes,"
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Uzbekistan
Daniel Cristian Ciobanu
