Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the French Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez, who is completing her posting in Uzbekistan, the presidential press service said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev commended the fruitful activities and personal contribution of the French Ambassador to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership ties between the two countries.

He emphasized that reciprocal visits at the highest level allowed to upgrade the Uzbek-French ties to a new level. In recent years, the two way trade has increased 4 times, projects worth more than $10 billion are being implemented with major companies and organizations of France.

Education, healthcare, and cultural and humanitarian exchange projects are being implemented, with fairs successfully held at the Louvre and the Institute of the Arab World.

A monument to Abu Raykhon Beruni was unveiled in the suburbs of Paris, with one of the streets in the capital of France named after Samarkand. This year, the Uzbek-French University will open in Tashkent.

At the end of the meeting, for her great contribution to boosting the Uzbek-French friendship and strategic partnership ties, the President of Uzbekistan awarded the French Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez the Dustlik Order.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the head of state for the highest assessment of her diplomatic mission, and also thanked for supporting the development of full-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
