Uzbekistan Airways plans to buy 4 Airbus A320 and A320 Neos. A320 Neo family is a development of the A320 family of narrow-body airliners. The Neo-series has been designed to provide significantly lower fuel consumption and lower operating costs through more modern engines, aerodynamic refinements, large curved winglets, known as sharklets and weight savings, the company said.
It also features cabin improvements such as more passenger seats, larger hand luggage spaces and an improved air purification system as well as reduced engine noise levels and a significantly increased flying range.
The airline added it will acquire airliners on lease and noted that it had held talks with representatives of a company that offered Airbus A321 aircrafts. The Uzbek airline intends to negotiate with other companies that deliver aircrafts on lease and said that it plans to buy aircrafts in 2018.
The airline officials also met with the Marketing Director for the Middle East and Central Asia of Boeing Ismail Robbana.
The sides reportedly discussed the expansion of the geography of flights and increasing of the passenger load. Representatives of Boeing presented their vision on the development plan for Uzbekistan Airways and what fleet of aircrafts will be required for the period until 2030.
