The Uzbek State Security Service together with the Federal Security Service stopped the activity of a cell of an international terrorist organization in Moscow, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said.
The defendants, being supporters of the terrorist organization, carried out propaganda activities and recruited labor migrants to join its ranks. The radicals carried out illegal activities under the coordination of ITO ideologists located in the territory of the European Union.
Propaganda materials banned in Russia, communication, electronic storage media devices containing information about the forms and methods of the organization's activities and used by them in illegal activities were found and seized at the defendants' place of residence.
The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow opened criminal cases against two foreign citizens born in 1986 and 1987 under Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization).
The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow chose a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention. Operational search activities and investigative actions are ongoing.
