President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received yesterday the visiting head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, UzA said.
The sides discussed prospects for advancing bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Chechnya, focusing on increasing the volumes and expanding the range of two-way trade and implementation of joint programs and projects in the economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The head of Chechnya thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and organizing the visit in order to see the historical centers of Islamic civilization where his father, Ahmat-Hadji Kadyrov, passed training courses.
Ramzan Kadyrov expressed his deep respect to the multinational people of Uzbekistan, and highly commended the reform efforts and international initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the sphere of strengthening interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, as well as promoting the truly humanistic essence of Islam.
Ramzan Kadyrov underlined his willingness to contribute to the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial and multifaceted ties between Uzbekistan and Russia.
In Tashkent Ramzan Kadyrov visited the Khazrati-Imam complex and the burial site of the famous Islamic scholar-theologian Sheikh Muhammad Sodiq Muhammad Yusuf, who was the teacher and friend of Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov. Ramzan Kadyrov also familiarized himself with the Kukcha mosque and cemetery in Shaykhantohur district.
As part of the two-day visit, Ramzan Kadyrov will also visit Islamic monuments in Samarkand and Bukhara.
