200 million tree and shrub seedlings will be planted annually as part of the Green Space national project aimed at bringing the level of greenery in the country to 30%, and the forest cover from 8% to 15% (6.1 million hectares) by 2030.
In the framework of the project, a total of 872 million tree and shrub seedlings have been planted across the country over the past 4 years. In the spring of this year it was planned to plant 125 million tree seedlings, while in practice, 136.9 million tree and shrub seedlings suitable for the soil and climatic conditions of the provinces have been planted, of which 8.3 million tree and shrub seedlings have been planted on forest lands.
For planting activities, 90 new water extraction wells and irrigation systems over a distance of 478.45 km have been commissioned. 460 machines were attached to areas where irrigation was impossible. In 2025, within the framework of the project, 30 million bushes of saplings are to be prepared by forestry enterprises, and the first 14 million bushes of tree and shrub seedlings were delivered in the spring season. The remaining part is scheduled to be delivered in the autumn season.
