The Uzatom Agency and the Hungarian state-owned MVM EGI signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy during the President Mirziyoyev’s trip of the of Uzbekistan to Hungary. The Uzatom Agency noted that the documents set out mechanisms for interaction to implement projects to build nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan.
MVM EGI will supply and implement dry cooling systems for the Uzbekistan nuclear power plant projects. In addition, the parties agreed on scientific research, localization of technologies and the creation of the necessary infrastructure. The MoM stipulates programs for training and advanced training of specialists.
In April, the first phase of the construction-installation base began in the Jizzakh province as part of the small-scale nuclear power plant project. In May, a wing of Rosatom commenced manufacturing reactor equipment.
