The number of imported cars in Q1 of 2025 was three times lower than in the same period in 2024, the National Statistics Committee said Tuesday.
- 2022 - $189.3 million worth of 8,508 vehicles;
- 2023 - $144.9 million worth of 10,489 vehicles;
- 2024 - $332.2 million worth of 22,210 vehicles;
- 2025 - $115.1 million worth of 6,950 vehicles.
The figures also show that the average price tag per imported vehicle has been rising since 2023:
- $22,200 in 2022
- $13,800 in 2023
- $15,000 in 2024
- $16,600 in 2025
In Q1 2025, China accounted for the bulk of Uzbekistan’s imports on 5,235 vehicles, followed by South Korea with 1,425 and India with 144. Notably, 75% of all imported vehicles came from China.
In the same period of 2022, China held a 53% share of imports on 4,482 vehicles. That year, 2,101 cars were imported from South Korea and 1,019 from Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Uzbek authorities introduced a requirement for eco-certificates for some imported vehicles, but this regulation was suspended a few days after being implemented.
