The second meeting between experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Uzbekistan's delegation on the implementation of the Integrated Work Plan (IWP) for 2025–2027 took place at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna.
At the talks, the parties discussed key priorities for developing Uzbekistan's national nuclear infrastructure, including legal framework, safety, capacity building, and environmental considerations.
They also focused on the upcoming Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) mission scheduled for 2026, the organization of public hearings, and small modular reactors.
IAEA executives, reportedly, praised Uzbekistan's comprehensive approach and reiterated their readiness to continue providing technical support.
