Ferghana police detained a group of people suspected of demeaning to honor and dignity of a Fergana resident and spreading an anti-social video on the Internet, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The footage shows several men brutally beating and insulting a young man for being gay.
Five people suspected of committing the said crime were detained following investigation carried out by the Interior Ministry. The detainees’ five mobile phones were seized as evidence.
The detainees were charged with part 2 of article 103, part 1 of article 112, part 2 of article 140, part 2 of article 164, part 2 of article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
