During his trip to the Andijan province on April 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation of the main development goals in the province for 2025.
According to the presidential press service, thanks to the launch of new enterprises and support from banks, jobs for 77 thousand people were created in the province in the first quarter.
It is planned to implement 166 investment projects in the Andijan province In 2025with a total value of 5.7 billion dollars. This will create 31 thousand new jobs and launch the manufacturing of 31 new goods.
An increase in export potential by 1.5 billion dollars is expected. An additional 65 MW of energy capacity will be introduced for the stable operation of enterprises.
By the end of the year, the province has set a goal of providing employment for 305 thousand people.
During the presentation the special focus was placed on economic diversification, expansion of industrial potential, implementation of innovative solutions and creation of modern manufacturing facilities. It is projected that in 2025 the economic growth rate of Andijan province will be 5.5% (in 2024 there was growth of 6.6%, in 2023 - 4.9%).
The head of state gave instructions to responsible persons on the timely implementation of projects, organizing vocational training for the unemployed and creating additional sources of income for the population.
The President also traveled to the provincial industrial fair in Andijan province, where goods of enterprises from various sectors of the province’s economy were showcased.
A total of 110 enterprises presented their goods and developments at the exhibition, demonstrating almost 500 types of goods. Among them are projects in the fields of automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, textile industry, digital technologies, manufacturing of building materials, food goods, floriculture, beekeeping and fish farming.
The head of state emphasized the importance of spreading best practices and supporting successful initiatives in other provinces of the country.
For this purpose, representatives from Karakalpakstan, all provinces and the city of Tashkent, including entrepreneurs and managers, were invited to the fair.
Reportedly, there are more than 11 thousand industrial enterprises in the Andijan province, which account for over 10% of the total industrial manufacturing of the country.
1,000 projects worth 2.3 trillion soums have been implemented in 47 industrial zones of the province, 18 thousand jobs have been created. In 2024, these zones produced goods worth 1 trillion soums, exports amounted to almost 31 million dollars.
Currently, $1 billion worth of 288 investment projects are being implemented in the province. This year, it is planned to launch 119 new manufacturing facilities and create more than 4,000 jobs. The projected volume of industrial exports is $47 million.
The President also traveled to the industrial cluster for furniture manufacturing, created after his travel to the Altyn-Kul district in 2023. The allocated 16-hectare site houses over 100 workshops, 236 showrooms and retail outlets.
