A 49-year-old man, M. S., smashed 51 cameras for photo and video recording of traffic violations and one radar complex installed at 29 intersections in Andijan with shots from an air rifle, the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of the Interior Ministry said.

The Hikvision brand cameras belong to the TELECOM SOFT, among equity owners of which is Uzbektelecom.

Reportedly, the financial damage is estimated at 1.147 billion soums.

The Investigative Department of the Andijan city police department opened a criminal case under Intentional destruction or damage to someone else's property, causing major damage (punishable by a fine of 75 to 100 basic calculation units or community service from 300 to 360 hours or correctional labor from 2 to 3 years or house arrest from 1 year to 3 years or imprisonment for up to 3 years).

In a video footage that has surfaced on social networks, the man himself says that he has broken 52 cameras. According to him, his car is in the penalty area.

He says that he does not have a billion, asks people to help and says that he will leave his bank card details.

In the comments under the video, they call him a national hero, a decent man, voiced "respect", wrote that he had done the right thing, prayed for him and asked for God's blessing.
