Different prices will be introduced for power consumption within 201 to 500 kWh range. This is provided for by the government resolution of March 31, the Ministry of Energy said today.
Currently, the year-round social electricity limit is 200 kWh per month (and within 201 to 1000 kWh range, a double rate shall apply), while for gas in the winter, an increase in the basic limit will be from 100 to 500 cubic meters.
From May 1, , the electricity tariff for 201 to 500 kWh range will be 800 soums for households (instead of 1000 soums), and for consumers living in apartment buildings and dormitories with electric stoves - 400 soums (instead of 500 soums).
Whilst, from 2026, electricity and gas prices will be raised annually from May 1, taking into account the annual inflation rate, but by no more than 10%.
Earlier, the president instructed the government to postpone the increase in gas and electricity tariffs for a month. Prices will rise from May 1, and not from April 1, as previously planned.
The first stage of the increase was in May last year, at which time social consumption limits were introduced. The basic (within the social limit) cost of 1 kWh of electricity for households increased from 295 to 450 soums (+52.5%), 1 cubic meter of gas - from 380 to 650 soums (+71%). With an increase in consumption volumes, the tariff increases several times.
From May 1, the basic tariff for electricity (within 200 kWh per month) will increase by 33.3% - from 450 to 600 soums, and for gas - by 53.8%, from 650 to 1000 soums.
