President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting Speaker of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Manh Monday. At the beginning of the conversation, Tran Thanh Manh conveyed sincere greetings to the Uzbek leader from the General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh.
The parties thoroughly explored the ways to further develop the Uzbek-Vietnamese multifaceted relations, primarily in the trade, economic and investment areas.
They noted the need to impart a systemic character to intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts and emphasized the importance of productively holding a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a Business Forum in Hanoi this year.
The two countries reached an agreement to promote new projects, to prepare a comprehensive industrial cooperation program in such areas as energy, geology, petrochemistry, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture and other industries.
They focused on the development of cultural and tourist exchanges, including through the adoption of a visa-free and agreed to step up inter-parliamentary dialogue to ensure the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
