The president Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Additional measures of state support for poor families while floating energy prices Decree, the UzA said.

According to the Decree, from May 1, 2025 to April 1, 2027, the state will compensate the difference between the basic and increased price rates for electricity and natural gas for certain categories of families.

Compensation will be provided for up to 150 kWh used per month above the basic rate. For example, if a family uses 350 kWh, it will pay 200 kWh at 600 soums, and the remaining 150 kWh will be compensated by the state, the National Agency for Social Protection explained.

Consumers will also be compensated for up to 250 cubic meters of gas per month during the heating season and up to 150 cubic meters in other months.

"Previously, compensation was provided only in the winter period, that is, from November to February. Now it will be paid monthly throughout the year," the agency said in a statement.

Who is eligible for compensation:

Partial reimbursement of expenses will be received by families that:

  • receive child benefits or financial assistance through the Unified Social Security System (with an income of less than 669 thousand soums per person per month);
  • are included in the register of low-income families (income less than 1.155 million soums per person);
  • are not included in the registers, but are recognized as needy (property is limited and income per family member is less than 1 million soums);
  • have an income of no more than 1.5 times the minimum consumer expenditure per family member (1.003 million soums).

The National Social Security Agency will be in charge of the due time payment of compensation for electricity and gas.

Also, within the framework of this Decree, in the 2025/2026 heating season, needy families will be provided with a 1 million soums one-time assistance.
