President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II on May 9 in Moscow, the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.
According to him, this was discussed during the meeting of Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko.
He added that Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his remarks at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union supported the statement of the Eurasia Group in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory.
The events are also expected to be attended by other Central Asian presidents - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan.
The Uzbek leader attended the WWII anniversary events in Moscow in 2023 and 2024.
