President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, the presidential press service said.

The parties discussed the preparations of the maiden Central Asia-EU Summit on April 3-4 in Samarkand.

They reportedly highly valued the outcomes of the multilateral ministerial meeting which took place earlier that day in Ashgabat.

The parties emphasized the importance of promoting beneficial cooperation between the two regions in such trade and logistics, including unlocking the potential of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, digitalization, green energy, ecology and infrastructure modernization and touched upon the ways to deepen the ties between Uzbekistan and EU institutions were considered.

They discussed adopting a new Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization and exchange views on current international and regional issues.
