All government bodies in Uzbekistan’s15 cities and districts will be relocated in one multi-story building in the centers of districts. The basement and first floors of these buildings will be sold to entrepreneurs.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this at a meeting with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses on Wednesday, his spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.
150 buildings that will be released in these districts will be offered at auction to businesses, the head of state noted.
He called this a "new system" of supporting entrepreneurs in their development and expansion of activities, for which land and buildings are needed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored that over the past three years, 250 thousand new enterprises had been started in the country.
“Governors and mayors should first of all put up for auction the places requested by businesses who intend to expand, who have a ready-made project," the president said.
He gave an example: the Mingboev Robotics enterprise in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent manufactures prostheses and exoskeletons for people with disabilities and has helped about 100 citizens return to active social life. To expand his activities, the entrepreneur requested a place convenient for visiting people with disabilities.
He added that for such entrepreneurs creating high-tech products, state facilities with an area of up to 10 thousand square meters will be allocated for free rent for 5 years.
This year, in addition to the 1 trillion soums planned for allocation to improve the infrastructure of small and medium-sized businesses, another 500 billion soums will be allocated, Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded.
