The Anti Trust Committee recognized Uzum Market LLC as a digital platform operator with a dominant position in the electronic trading platforms (marketplaces) market, the Committee's press service said.
According to the Regulation on the procedure for recognizing the dominant position and superior bargaining power of a digital platform operator, which entered into force on August 1, 2024, an operator is recognized as such if one of the following conditions is met and there are direct and indirect network effects:
- if the amount of revenue for the last calendar year is more than 100 thousand times the base calculation unit (37.5 billion soums);
- if the total average number of active end users of the digital platform is at least 50 thousand per month or the average number of active business users is at least 3,000 per month.
In addition, this status, regardless of the number of users, is assigned to platforms with a share of more than 40% in a particular market. The status will be reviewed by the committee every three years. The list of companies is published on the committee's website.
Digital platforms that have received this status are required to announce changes to prices or terms of use of the platform in the media and on their websites at least 15 days in advance.
In January, Payme was recognized as an operator with a dominant position in the online payment systems market. Before that, YandexGo UB and Yandex Eats, as well as Express24 APP, received this status.
