The Director General of the Expertise France Jérémie Pellet will visit Tashkent on March 17-18, the French Development Agency (AFD) said Thursday.

Expertise France is the French public agency for international technical assistance, which has been part of the ADF group since January 1, 2022. Expertise France promotes French governmental technical assistance and international expertise cooperation abroad.

Expertise France has been working in Uzbekistan since 2020, supporting government bodies in the fields of energy, climate change and green economy. Expertise France is currently implementing two technical assistance programs.

The agency’s presence in the region is being boosted by the launch of a new European program on satellite Internet communications in Central Asia (TEI Digital Connectivity). This flagship project is reportedly part of the Global Gateway strategy, and Expertise France is the leading partner in the consortium for its implementation in Europe.

In addition, Expertise France, in collaboration with GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation), is developing a new program funded by the European Union to support the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.

During Jérémie Pellet’s visit, the TEI Digital Connectivity program is expected to be officially launched. The ceremony will take place jointly with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.

Jérémie Pellet will also hold high-level talks with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport. He will also meet with the new Authority for the Development and Regulation of the Energy Market, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development, the Art and Culture Development Fund, the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan, the French Embassy and partners of the European Practitioners Network.
